All Boy

"DA-DAAA!  PA-PAA!" Is what is heard a lot around here.  Malachi loves his daddy and papa.  He often calls papa on his imaginary phone :)  I was reading him a book and there was a photo of a telephone and when I said, "telephone" he held his hand to his ear and said, "papa?"  Too cute.

We have a wood stove in our basement, which has been a huge help (esp. since there is a gas shortage.)  Malachi loves saying, "hot" whenever he hears it or sees it.  Aaron has been cutting down a dead tree in our yard for wood.  Malachi loves to watch him use the chain saw.

If daddy or papa are working on a project around the house, Malachi is ON it!  He loves watching them use the power tools and work.  He is fascinated.

We are also learning to use a spoon. Oh joy.  I think it is harder on me then him.  I suppose its a learning process.  I just need to be sure if he uses one then I will wrap a tarp around him and the whole kitchen.  lol!  Seriously.

He loves playing with balls.  Often time when he spots his ball across the room he will announce it, "baa!"  He loooves playing peek-a-boo and its the most adorable thing the face of the universe!!!!!!  (At least to me and daddy :)  He loves to be chased and keeps us busy as he explores (and throws things in the trash! Yikes!)  We are starting to get to the point where we need to be careful what we say and do around him.  SO scary!  Lots of prayers please! haha

I remember learning in college that some gender characteristics are taught but I see now that natural biology is causing this baby turn into a boy, right before my eyes!  I have not taught him to love tools, tractors, loud noises, balls and the men in his life.  That is just the way God created him. <3

                                                                             "hot!"

My sweet baby angel curls!  I love how these appear after bath time
Being very helpful while daddy put together our shelving

"This is so sweet mom!"  (OMW look at those legs!  Precious!)

"Baa!"

"Hey mom, saw you do this 100 times so now I am going to!"

It actually plugged it in himself!  So scary!

Second Christmas

It feels like this year was Malachi's first Christmas, since he was pretty much asleep the whole time last year :) We were in Grand Rapids with my side of the family.  It was very special and a delight to share Deal traditions with our son.  Grand Rapids had a ice storm followed, by snow fall so the scenery was gorgeous on Christmas eve! We went to a very special service that night.  It was full of lights, carols, candles and squirmy children (so we felt we fit right in :)  We had Christmas with the Deals the next day and celebrated with the Spinnikens New Years day.  Lots of fun memories for 2013!

Going to Christmas eve service-like father like son, no smiles!

After the service

Malachi was very interested in the lights on the van ceiling :)

Christmas morning, opening his first gift!

daddy wanted to help him open it

Needless to say, he love it :)
