Riding in the Big Truck!

It has been said that Aaron and I's first "date" was riding in the black semi going to Grawn to drop off cherries.  I suppose this could be true.  We never really had an official date.  We didn't need one.  It all happened naturally.  Either way, my love for riding in the truck started early in our relationship.  Each year it becomes more sentimental then the next.  So imagine the fun when we got to take our little Monkey with us!
It was smooth sailing.  Malachi seemed to really enjoy himself (in fact he fell asleep among the noise and the bouncing on the way there.)  He got a little scared when we first got to Cherry Growers because of all the commotion, but he quickly adjusted once daddy held him. :)  We got to show him where all our cherries go and all the busy equipment.  He got fussy once we were almost home, but who can blame him?  It was 10pm, way past his bed time!  Over all it was a good trip and just think, he gets to say his first ride in the truck was at 7 months!  What fun!

Surprise!

This was a big year for my parents!  Mom turned 50 and they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.  We celebrated by surprising my mom at a deli in Cadillac (a central location between GR and TC.)  She had no idea her kids and grandkids would be there!  Farica and I worked on a plan for weeks and thankfully it all went off ok.  In fact, I think she was in shock for the first few minutes!
I wish we could have had a bigger celebration, but July is a crazy month for us and having little babes always complicates things. I am glad we got something on the calendar at all, it was totally worth it!  Congrats mom and dad!  Hope you have a wonderful 50th year mom!  You deserve it!

Waiting for Grandpa and Grandma to arrive

Enjoying the cherries!

Surprise!

"What are you guys doing here!?" :)

Malachi was conducting a song for us :)

Snuggling in the sheets

These pictures below are already about a month old.  My little monkey.  He is growing way too fast!  I am completely crazy about him and tell him I am going to "eat his face off" daily. :)
He has mastered rolling from stomach to back, sitting and now he is starting to scoot on his belly backward (he usually ends up partly under the coffee table. ha-ha.)  He is cutting his two bottom teeth and is having a bit of a rough time, but it comes and goes so that makes it easier on both of us.  He is waggling his tongue and smacking his lips constantly playing with the new "things" in his mouth.
We went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and he is 15% on the chart for weight and height and 16% for his head.  I have a feeling he is going to be petite like my mom's side (gotta love the Irish.)  Although, I hear his Auntie Lou was a little pib-squeak when she was little.  Either way, I don't mind.  I will take small babies with small heads any day!
He is saying "ba-ba" and my favorite, "ma-ma."  He sometimes says "da-da and pa-pa" too.  I don't think he really knows he is saying mom, dad and papa, but it sure is cute!  Sometimes he strings syllables together that sound exactly like he is talking and I find myself wondering..what did he just say? lol
We are doing our best to enjoy summer while juggling a busy schedule.  Lots of pictures to post still.  Hope to find the time some day.

                                                         Oh those chunky thighs!!

                                                            Strike a pose!
